Attorney Charles A. Messina

Charles A. Messina

Focused Knowledge in Divorce & Family Law

Attorney Charles A. Messina is a Buffalo native who has lived, studied, and worked in the Western New York area all of his life. Growing up in Hamburg and Boston in the Southtowns, Charles also resided in Tonawanda for nearly 10 years and is intimately familiar with both the Northtowns and Southtowns. He has devoted his legal practice to matrimonial and family law and has established a reputation as a knowledgeable resource and effective advocate for his clients in all matters of divorce, child custody and family court proceedings.

Prior to his decision to dedicate his career to practicing law, Charles formerly worked as a paramedic and registered nurse (and has maintained his nursing credentials ever since). After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from D'Youville College in 2001, he proceeded to attend the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law (UB) until his graduation in June 2004. Charles subsequently passed the New York State Bar exam on his first attempt in July of 2004 and was later admitted to the Bar in the State of New York in March of 2005. Since then, he has been in private practice serving the people of Western New York.

Following his graduation from UB, Charles initially concentrated in criminal law and served as an intern at the Erie County District Attorney's Office, after which he settled into divorce and family law as an associate attorney at the highly-acclaimed Buffalo law firm of Offermann, Cassano, Greco, Slisz & Adams, LLP. During his five years with the firm, Charles trained directly under trial lawyers Tom Cassano and Joan Adams, both of whom are Fellows of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and well respected by the Western New York Matrimonial Bar.

In November 2009, he established his own divorce and family law practice, The Law Office of Charles A. Messina, where he serves as a divorce attorney in Buffalo, Erie County, and surrounding counties of Western New York. Charles is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Family Law Section) and the Erie County Bar Association (Matrimonial and Family Law Committees). He has been a regular presenter for the Erie County Bar on statutory and case law updates.
